All Clio Goldbrenner bags are made with premium quality leather carefully selected from tanneries by Clio Goldbrenner herself.
Leather is a natural material that changes over the years and will never retain its original condition. It acquires a patina, becomes softer and the colour may change over time. The irregularities in the leather are a measure of its authenticity.
All our full-grain leathers have undergone treatment in the tannery and this protects them to different degrees depending on the finish.
Most marks can be cleaned by delicately rubbing the leather with a soft, light-coloured cloth and a colourless, neutral cream (test beforehand on an inside or invisible part). Some marks can also be removed very simply by rubbing with a white eraser.
Wherever possible, avoid contact with alcohol and solvents (perfume, nail polish remover, bleach etc.) as well as over-exposure to sunshine or light that could alter light or bright colours.
We also recommend that you avoid wearing your bag in heavy rain as this could alter the shape of your bag.
Leather is a natural raw material that has been dyed. It is always better to wear dark bags with clothes of a similar colour to avoid the risk of the dye transferring to your clothes. The opposite is also true for light-coloured bags.
You can also waterproof your bag before wearing it for the first time. A specialist shoe repairer or our after-sales service (firstname.lastname@example.org) will be able to provide recommendations about the best products.
It is not essential to do this however because the charm of your bag lies in the effect of natural everyday use.
